The Young-DGM SAM international was founded on July 2021. Its core aim is to establish research cooperation between master, doctoral and postdoctoral students from the German and Argentinian science systems. For this purpose, bimonthly online lectures on topics on materials of common interest between the two countries are organized. The idea is simple: one scientist from Germany and one from Argentina will give presentations on the current and future status on a subject of common interest so that both Germans and Argentinians can learn about the current conditions in the other country.

In a long term point of view, this group will also focus on international short stays by means of scholarships and visits to recognized universities and industries from Argentina and Germany.
