As a young scientist to the TMS Annual Meeting in sunny California in March 2023? In mid-January, the DGM, together with the "Research in Germany" initiative funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), launched a call for participation to represent Germany as a research location.
Two matriculated students or doctoral candidates from the MatWerk area were sought by invitation to tender to represent the joint DGM and "Research in Germany" booth at the TMS conference from March 19 to 23, 2023 in San Diego, California, and to provide cross-media support for the conference on behalf of DGM and "Research in Germany". Like DGM, TMS - The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS) - is committed to facilitating collaboration and knowledge exchange between scientists and industry representatives from around the world and to making a significant contribution to the further development of materials engineering by promoting young scientists. To this end, the "Research in Germany" initiative specifically highlights the funding and career opportunities available to international scientists in Germany at universities, research institutions and in research-based industry, the conditions under which they can conduct research and teach here, and the support they are offered.
Numerous applications were received by DGM after the call. Among all the responses, we are pleased to book Michéle Scholl and Martin Müller each a seat on the plane to San Diego. The two young scientists can expect an exciting time with many new contacts and the opportunity to network at one of the world's best-known international conferences. We look forward to cross-media coverage of Michéle and Martin live from San Diego.
