The Young-DGM Giessen was founded on October 19, 2017. Its core tasks include strengthening the next generation of materials scientists, networking young students and doctoral candidates with people from other MatWerk sites, promoting young scientists by creating opportunities for further education for talented young scientists, networking young materials scientists with institutes and industry, maintaining close contacts with university-related institutes and regional industrial companies, and providing targeted further education for interested students and doctoral candidates through excursions, workshops, lectures, and conferences.
