Process and production engineering covers thermal, mechanical and chemical manufacturing methods such as forming, casting, machining, coating and additive manufacturing. The goal is controlled generation of desired microstructures and properties with economic efficiency. Process modeling, monitoring, quality control and digitization (Industry 4.0) optimize productivity and reproducibility.
