Processing Properties of Synthetic Ceramic Raw Materials

This Working Group is dedicated to the processing properties of ceramic materials. Topics include studies on the influence of chemical additives on the processing properties of spray granules or the influence of the preparation state of nanodisperse raw materials on the properties of sintered moldings. Another focus is the substitution of ceramic raw materials, which are subject to strong price changes.

The Working Group “Processing Properties of Synthetic Ceramic Raw Materials” is the expert platform for developers, manufacturers, processors and users of synthetic materials for high performance ceramics. The regular meetings focus on current topics of particular relevance to process engineering, such as the properties of synthetic raw materials, the influence of chemical auxiliaries, the characterization and targeted control of surface properties of inorganic particles, and the processing properties and their targeted influence via the processes of ceramic preparation, granulation and shaping technology. This Working Group is particularly successful in the field of advanced training.

Goals

  • Discussion and elaboration of industrial and scientific issues in the field of synthetic ceramic raw materials and chemical auxiliaries.
  • Development of a scientifically sound understanding of the interactions between raw material properties and their technological processing properties along the ceramic process chain, including the effect and targeted control of surface properties and the use of chemical auxiliaries for use in the manufacture of high-performance ceramics.
  • Initiation of joint research and development projects between universities, research institutes and industry.
  • exchange of experience, further training, promotion of young scientists and networking.
